About us

Young Climate Warriors is a fledging climate change charity - small but ambitious and agile.
 

Young Climate Warriors offers weekly 'carbon-busting, sustainable living challenges' - for families, children and teachers - via schools and community organisations. We also have a growing team of local Ambassadors, based across the UK, sharing climate change discussions in assemblies.  We are a Duke of Edinburgh 'approved provider' with participants undertaking Climate Change Skills Challenges as part of their Bronze Award.

Young Climate Warriors challenges offer agency, empowerment, a sense of teamwork and help reduce levels of eco-anxiety.

​

Founded in 2019, Young Climate Warriors has already engaged with over 15,000 children in eco-activities and carbon-emissions-busting challenges,  providing free resources to over 400 schools and 800 families.

We don't believe it is our children's job to solve the climate crisis.  But we do believe passionately that they - like all of us - should have the opportunity to find out how we can live more sustainably.

YCW sits at the 'community/school' interface, we support the skills-building that's core to the DfE Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy Vision - 'excellent in education and skills ... through learning and practical experience'.  We complement 'climate change in the curriculum' with opportunities for children to choose to take action today.
