Did You Know...???

-
The average kettle uses as much energy in the 3 minutes or so it takes to boil a litre of water as an energy-efficient LED light bulb uses in ten hours!
-
Most people boil several times more water than they need for each mug of tea. If you drink 4 mugs every day, for a year, boiling exactly what you need could reduce your carbon emissions equivalent to driving 110 fewer kilometres.
-
Hairdryers are another intensive energy-guzzler. If you use a hairdryer for 5 minutes a day, for a year, it will generate the same amount of carbon emissions as driving 70 kilometres.
If your parent or carer is happy for you to do so, you could email us a photo of your challenge (no children in photos please) or post on Instagram #warrior4climate
